While we were waiting to be seated today at Cracker Barrel, one of the workers came up to Deborah and pointed at a lady and told Deborah she wanted to see her. Deborah recognized her as Brenda, the mother of a child she once had in daycare. When Deborah went over to her, Brendas head was bobbing up and down and her words were slurred and didnt make since. Come to find out, she is a Type 1 diabetic. They brought her some orange juice and she recovered and was okay. We told her about our friend Belinda and her daughter Vanessa and our ties with JDRF. Brendas daughter that Deborah kept in daycare was also diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was 8 years old. Brenda also has other family members with Type 1. They are not over weight and they do not over eat. Fact is, there is no known cause or cure for Type 1 diabetes. The last thing we told her is were praying for a cure. Symptoms of Type 1 is constant thirst and hunger, weight loss, fatigue, blurred vision and frequent urination. If you or someone you know has these symptoms, a simple blood test can determine if they have Type 1 diabetes. Please remember these symptoms. And please pray for a cure. Thanks. If Deborah had not been given a Cracker Barrel gift certificate today we would not have eaten there today and we would not have seen Brenda and got to minister to her. I love the way God brings people together when they need one another. We serve THE awesome God. Thank You, Father.
