Whilst the rest of the family are getting up Im playing with stats. Ive heard from the Yes campaign that the scottish vote would only have changed the result of 4 elections since 1945 and wondered when. Whats interesting - out of the 18 elections since 1945, Scotland got what it voted for, if seen as a standalone 11 times - this includes conservative governments. We actually used to vote conservative a lot more until Tony blair came along - 20% of the country voted conservative - who knew. When we didt get what we wanted in westminster I think only once (1992) could ALL of Scotland going labour have changed the result. However - I can probably also say the same for myself, i dont always get the government I vote for. And if you pick any subset of the electorate thats true, . And guess what - in an Independent Scotland - there will still be a significant population who have to put up with a government they didnt vote for and dont agree with. So dont be fooled that by voting yes your vote will magically count any more than it does now - one man, one vote its as simple as that.
