Whipped up (literally) some black bean hummus for tomorrows - TopicsExpress

Whipped up (literally) some black bean hummus for tomorrows breakfast. I like to let it sit overnight to bring out the flavors. Recipe is very simple, though mine has a lot of character: 1 large can black beans, drained, conserving the canning liquid. 1 cup tahini paste 4 cloves garlic 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and deribbed, roughly chopped. 1/2 large Spanish (red) onion, roughly chopped Juice of one lemon, or two limes Salt Whip everything together in the food processor. If you like it creamier, add some of the canning liquid. If youre using it as a sandwich spread, make it thicker. As I mentioned above, I make it the night before and serve the next morning. Serve this with an Israeli salad and any kind of good bread. Breakfast of champions.
