Whirlwind week. Super busy. Work: Still fresh in the new position in the Training department. Learning the ropes- but making plans for some big improvements. Pulled off a few minor coups, too, so the new group is happy. I got a couple of calls for support from my old team too. Its nice to be needed. Motorcycles: I almost didnt qualify to join the Instructor Training program, as my schedule meant I was going to miss two of their training dates. I negotiated with them, and arranged to only miss one and a half days, so Ive been allowed to continue... as long as I excel through the program. Tricky condition, but as Im a cocky little bastard: Challenge accepted. The end result is that Ive spent a large number of hours this week in my basement, practising rote lesson delivery. Seriously- my furnace knows a *lot* about motorcycle clutch control. Vacation: So, tomorrow morning, after I put in my mandatory, deal breaking, half-day at motorcycle instructor training, Im going to dash home and leap into the car with the family to rush to the airport. (yes, that was a run-on sentence, and totally appropriate given my run-on life) Going to some warm weather down south. Of course Im not complaining! I just want to point out that while Ive been in the basement teaching my furnace how to ride a motorcycle, Cathy has been rushing around with checklists and luggage and med kits and sunscreen and all the rest of it. So, tomorrow, I get to press pause on the whirlwind for an entire week!
