White Heron Sangha and the Buddhist Peace Fellowship Present: A Social Justice Response to our Changing Environment When: Sunday, November 23rd from 2:30-4:30 Where: Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of SLO, 2201 Lawton Ave. San Luis Obispo (corner of South St and Lawton near Broad St) Aware of the preciousness and interconnectedness of all life, how do we center social justice in our response to changing ecosystems? The Buddhist Peace Fellowship offers a unique perspective that bridges spiritual ethics, mindful practice, and social activism. Co-Directors Dawn Haney and Katie Loncke will share their recent work to bring an intersectional lens to eco-dharma: bearing witness to indigenous-led movements to heal from the Keystone XL Pipeline and tar sands extraction; and highlighting other inspiring examples of environmental movements that foreground race, gender, class, and other key social-justice dimensions in their work for ahimsa (non-harming), and a more peaceful world for all beings. Please join us for this presentation to learn more about the work being done nationally by the Buddhist Peace Fellowship. Suggested donation of $10.00 (to support the Buddhist Peace Fellowship)
