In the Middle East, the Australian Defence Force’s White Ribbon Ambassador LEUT Peter Kenworthy created a morning tea opportunity to educate deployed members on the organisational goals of the White Ribbon movement, which works to prevent violence against women by changing attitudes and behaviours. Vice Admiral David Johnson, Chief of Joint Operations, who was visiting the Middle East Region at the time, joined in with the White Ribbon event. White Ribbon Day is officially on 24 November 2014, however, deployed members in the Middle East Region held their event on 17 November 2014.
