“White people are bland”. A surprise statement from “Today” host Karl Stefanovic to #NITV News’ Natalie Ahmat today, during a discussion on Indigenous stories and faces in mainstream media. The conversation followed a segment on the “Today” show this week, in which a panel of four non-Indigenous people discussed the SBS/NITV’s “First Contact” series. Karl acknowledged the lack of Indigenous representation on the panel, saying there was no thought given to the omission. He told Natalie that there should be more Indigenous people in mainstream media, and he hopes we will see it on his network soon.
