And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.” Revelation 7:2-4 Contrary to what Jehovah’s Witnesses teach the 144,000 will be only Jewish men from the 12 tribes of Israel. These 144,000 will lead a multitude of Gentiles to the Lord Jesus Christ during the seven years of tribulation on earth. There will be many Jews and Gentiles accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior during the seven tribulation period. “After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;” Revelation 7:9 There will be 144,000 Jewish men (12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel) who will be sealed by God to evangelize the world for God during the seven years of tribulation on the earth. These 144,000 Jewish men will accept Christ as their Savior during the tribulation and they will be sealed by God. The fact that the 144,000 will be sealed by God means that they will not be killed by the anti-Christ during the tribulation. But rather they will live to see the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
