Ogun new model schools resume in November -Amosun Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, on Thursday, said academic activities would commence in 11 of the 15 model schools under construction in the state by November. Amosun made this known at Pansheke area in Abeokuta South Local Government during his project assessment and monitoring tour in the council. The governor said though 28 model schools were being proposed in the state, work had commenced in 15 of them. He also said one of the model schools located in Kobape area of Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area, would be managed by Abeokuta South Local Government Area. Amosun said the state government was ready to assist any youth that took interest in farming with land, money and other facilities. The governor said his administration would make farming more attractive to the youth. “To our youths, I have good news for you. There is this unemployment challenge that we have, there is no job for our youths, we are correcting that and the only way for us to correct this is to make farming more attractive,” he said. Amosun also promised to pay the 13th month salary to civil servants in the state along with other outstanding allowances. He urged politicians in the state to embrace peaceful campaign strategy “which will make it possible for opposing party members to meet and dance pass each other without violence.’’ Chairman, Abeokuta South Local Government Area, Mr. Wale Edun, called on the people to join hands with the governor to complete all developmental projects under construction.
