Who does stuff like this? Ill tell you who... Milton High School - TopicsExpress

Who does stuff like this? Ill tell you who... Milton High School alumni! Okay, Ill set it up... a week or two ago Michelle Ford-Smith asked for my mailing address -- like everyone who has asked, I give them my parents address because either the post people that deliver to the South Side of Huntington are drunk and only deliver half of Amy and my stuff... or stairway robbers are rampant in this area. Then a couple of nights ago I was at my parents house... They gave me the Christmas and Get Well cards Id received. When I first read them I thought I saw one from Michelle Ford -- Was not until this morning when I was sending out the impersonal thank you Facebook messages that I noticed it was from Sherry Ford -- Sherry has not contacted me for my address and is not on Facebook. I would have had more time to formulate conspiracy theories had I not left for my 8:30 cyber knife treatment. Amy and I were to have our first of three Christmas tonight -- tonight Christmas Eve dinner and the Marshall bowl game, tomorrow unwrapping gifts at my parents, then to Amys parents on Christmas Eve to wake up for Christmas breakie and gift exchange at their place. But my mom came down with the flu... nixing what was going to be the start of a great Christmas for us and them. Their annual Bartram Christmas Eve party is now out. And -- possibly -- the worst of all their planned Christmas trip to North Carolina to see Dylan, Kim, and Xaiden -- their grandson -- who they see maybe three times per year. It really sucks for her, but at least she is responsible enough not to have company or visit people -- as much as she would like to -- when she is at risk of spreading germs... I told you she was great! So my step-dad took me today. As I was getting out of the family truckster he said that since our Christmas was cancelled, I brought your presents. I gave a half-hearted, thanks. I was really looking more forward to watching the Marshall game with David tonight and eating my moms crab cakes... And of course the gift exchange tomorrow morning. Anyway, the gifts were all wrapped... Except one. It was from Michelle Ford-Smith. I have been opening the care packages as they come... Just in case there may be perishables in the box. :-) Upon opening I didnt realize just how special this care package was, how much thought and planning -- some may say underhanded strategy -- but I wont go that far went into this package. ----------- Here is just how awesome my Milton High School peeps still are... Masterminded by Michelle Ford-Smith (you wily devil you) -- she gathered a bunch of people to pop cards in a box with some sweets and lotion for Amy. As I said earlier, I didnt notice how special it was until I read the letter on top... the one addressed to me. This was about 10:30 -- Id been up since 4:00 with only a little sleep.... In other words, a nap was coming soon. After reading Michelles letter to me I saw what seemed like a dozen envelopes from various people: The first I saw was my BFF from fifth grade until eighth Craig Owens... most of the others didnt have returns on them. I shot a quickie THANK YOU! to Michelle and now Id like to thank everyone who did participate who sent cards: besides Craig, there was Michelle Cooper, Kathy Walker, Julie Conrad, Shawn Keyser, Molly McClennen, Ashley Day Drake, and Amy L. Napier (who wins the award for best card -- not to pick favorites or anything -- but hers was not just LOL worthy but shocking with its brute honesty. Amy and I would also like to thank anyone who did not know of this project but would have happily participated, and those who did hear and really, REALLY meant to but didnt (that would have been me). And yes, I did cry... This is one of the best Christmas presents I have ever received -- Thank you so, SO much! Love you guys and guyettes.
