Who is gonna be our hero today First, we sincerely apologise - TopicsExpress

Who is gonna be our hero today First, we sincerely apologise for not being able to meet up with todays meeting. It is very crucial that we attend as we intend raising matters that affect and threaten the existence of our young detachment but due to unforseen cricumstances, we cant make it. Chief among these issues is the fact that we are confident the BS will present the report of acivities at this years AGM and we are certain he will include the activities of the LAUTECH Closed detachment alongside his report. However, the just concluded handing over/ PFA and refreshal course camp held from 7th-11th July witnessed a little set back from the state executives as usual to which we are still grevious about. 1. We forwarded an email notifying the state of the event a month before the date and requested the presence of the state training officer. 2. To ensure a hitch free camp exercise, we travelled twice to the state to register our new members who are 16 in number weeks before the camp. 3. Upon series of text messages, we got no response until we were in camp and was expecting the arrival of the T.O and decided to call. 4. The BS then told us that the T.O is busy. It caused the demorale of all officers and we had to tell an official lie that the T.O had a disaster he is to coordinate and bacause we already made a plan B,we switched to it which was training them ourselves and we did that for 3days. 5. The assistant youth cordinatior incidentally came into our school and chose to pay us a visit at the camp and saw things himself. 6. The camp excercise was a huge sacrifice on the part of the squadies. They all stayed 7 months in school and even without food stayed behind for camp. They had no money to pay for camp as thier parents already ask them to come home and gave them only transport fares. Still, we survived 4days in camp together. with rigorous trainings and rehearsals. 7. Chairman sir and the entire executives seated here. It is only fair that since the BS acknowleged we held a camp, he shhould be willing to give us the certificates of those 16 new members who were dully registered and partook in the course. It should be noted that if the certificates are not given to the members, the credibility of the detachments executive council is at stake and as such, the council has resolved to take some personal decisions to save her face and retain her integrity as we cannot lead people whose commitment we have lost for one reason or the other. Also please note that eachof these new members passed through a probation period of 3months and a training period of 7months to make a total of 10months training before the cmp which is a yearly excercise as stated in the bye laws of the detachment for all members. We therefore strongly believe that they are worthy of the certificates and not that they are rich enough to buy them. We would also take time to study them before awarding them the certificates and as usual have always and will still recall the certificates of those found wanting in the course of service. Other issues we advice the house to look at are; 1. Issues of funding of the state from philantropists. 2. Proper management of funds. 3. Proper nocturing of detacchments. 4. Uniformity in our uniforms- publishing the real dressing code and announcing of sanctions tto offenders. {very critical} 5. unity among officers- settling grudges. 6. Position ourselves better than before as we now have other organizations competing for the traing of individuals and organizations with us and evnn charge higher. 7. Give volunteers better chance to better their lives e.g sposoring them on courses like swimming/ diving and sea rescue courses, foreign languaages learning, fire rescue courses e.t.c all wihch would have caused more individually but might cause the organization just diplomatic interraction with relevant organizations. We apologise once more for our abseence and hope all these issues we raised will be addressed before more harm is done. We also apologise for all harsh worrds used in this note. Yours In Service To Humanity, Adeyemi Jadesola For LAUTECH Closed Detachment
