Who wants some? Today were celebrating the 40 martyrs of Sebaste in my country, a christian orthodox holiday. As a tradition, people usually prepare this sweet soup, with walnuts, cinnamon and those cute little mucenici in the shape of 8s. You can also add lemon peel, to give it that yummy touch. Regardless the reason behind this traditional recipe, I can guarantee you that its damn tasty and it doesnt take much time to prepare it, especially if youve already bought the mucenici from a grocery store. Theres also another dish for this holiday.. basically you prepare the dough and make the 8s, then bake them and smear them with honey and walnuts. :P If youd like to try it, check mucenici recipe on google and tell me whats your opinion. ^_^
