Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ - TopicsExpress

Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. (2 John 1:9) Question: How many times have we heard Christians, even pastors, declare love is what counts; not doctrine. Do you realize only those abiding in the Doctrine of Christ have God? So what constitutes the Doctrine of Christ? When asked to explain the GOSPEL you could say: Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures… He was buried, and He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. (1 Cor. 5:1-5) When asked to explain the VIRGIN BIRTH you could say: But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.” So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” (Mat. 1:20-23) When asked to explain the Triune Nature of God you could say: For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. (1 John 5:7) When asked to explain the only begotten Son of God you could say: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 What about when you’re asked to explain the Second Coming of Christ? Do you know when it begins? What events will our Lord accomplish? And when will it end? Q) Do you know when the Son of Man (Jesus) will gather His elect from the wrath to come? A: Rev. 7:9-17 Q) Do you when the Holy One (Jesus) will physically return a second time for the salvation of Israel? A: Rev. 10:1-7 Q) Do you know when the Word of God (Jesus) will appear with His armies and kill those following the Beast? A: Rev. 19:11-21 Q) Do you know when the Lamb of God (Jesus) and His bride will descend inside a new heaven to a new earth? A: Rev. 21:9-11 The above visits are highlighted in The Revelation of Jesus Christ. Each event takes place at a different time, for a different reason, each having a different result! Yet all four events play a critical role within the 2nd coming. “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near. (Rev. 1:3) The apostle John wrote The Revelation of Jesus Christ; the last book of the Holy Bible. (Rev. 1:1) The focus of this prophecy is the Second Coming of Christ. There is no doubt, understanding the events of His coming, the timing of His coming, and the consequences of His coming from the Holy Spirit (Rev. 3:21-22) will become a lifeline to overcomers living during the Great Tribulation! (Rev. 7:9-14; 15:2) Yet, how many times have you heard the lie understanding the 2nd Coming, even believing in the 2nd coming, is not a salvation issue? I’ve been rebuked many times for wasting valuable time teaching and writing on the 2nd coming; when I should have been out saving souls. And if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the Holy City... (Rev. 22:19) Thankfully, John didn’t feel this way. The apostle warned believers not to add or take away from the words of this prophecy. For those who do, God will take away their part in the Book of Life and the Holy Jerusalem, the residence of the Bride for eternity. (Rev. 21:2, 9-11) This is why agreeing to disagree on the Second Coming is never an option. But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you. (Acts 26:16) As we speak, instead of seeking the approval from man, more and more saints are choosing a God given calling. In this next week, could you set apart some time to pray and ask our precious Holy Spirit about becoming a faithful witness concerning the timing and consequences of the Second Coming of Christ? If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son.
