Whos The Average Joe ? Is his name Joe? Randy Ferris, the author of the popular blog Average Joe’s Handgun Reviews (averagejoeshandgunreviews.blogspot), writes our “Gun of the Month” reviews. He also occasionally pens articles for Gun Digest Magazine and is an ongoing contributor to the Gun Nation podcast (gunnation.us). Randy has been a life-long shooter and student of defensive hand-gunnery. He has worked in the proprietary security industry since 1981 and recently co-founded Violence Prevention Strategies (violencepreventionstrategies.org), a company that trains businesses, schools and other institutions how to identify, assess and manage threats. At least once or twice a week you can find him prowling the handgun display cases and attempting to bully the staff into cutting him a ridiculous deal on some new or vintage prize that has just come into the shop.
