Whos having a great Black Friday? I hope so. All-in-all, the sales - TopicsExpress

Whos having a great Black Friday? I hope so. All-in-all, the sales were not that great. But at the same time they didnt totally suck (Pac Suns 40% off deal and the Buy One Get One deal got me a pair of maroon joggers and two new jeans). So long as youre sure you got a good deal on something, I bet youre golden. Otherwise, if you stayed home today, you missed out on so little that I dont know where to start. Anyways, back to the topic of freebies. It has come to my attention, both in the surveys and by comments and tips and small words of advice by very close people, that NAI is in a compromising position. This is the relationship between us and the customers, and the more I thought about it, the more I saw it as well. While NAI likes to hand out free gifts and awesome vehicles for everyone to enjoy because thats the nature of the company, we would also like to point out that the more people take advantage of our nature, the less activity we will have on our end. That is evident as we are continually forced to cut costs to meet ends and perform at the same output level as we always do. Let me put that into perspective: We release a group gift, everyone gets it, everyone is happy, but it also means that we lose out on the benefits that we could have received had we sold the vehicle for a price. However, the moment we release a paid item such as the Bandit or more distantly the Avenue Corsa Classic, it suddenly turns people off and people begin running in the opposite direction. Let me clarify something: NAI is NOT a nonprofit resource and we do NOT receive our money by releasing free items. We want to keep releasing them, but if we have to struggle to make ends meet, then we will simply stop releasing free items just as easy as we declare we can make them. The reason I want to give group gifts is to reward supporters of NAI who believe in the cause, but if the only reason why you want to stay in the group is so you dont have to buy a car, then we will do two simple things: we wont make the cars you request and we wont build them, period. Please understand that free items are a privilege and I do not have to make them, but depending on NAIs standing, I will choose the direction we take with freebies. With that clarified, what is the group gift? Simple. Refer to the pie chart: its a classic. Seriously. The most requested vehicle in the vote is a Classic. Then Sports, SUV, Muscle, Van, and Truck in that order. There was also no love for Sedans, which is a shame since surprisingly, the Eco is a good seller. The other thing I did see in the vote was the El Camino. Despite Muscle coming in a distant 4th place, the El Camino was the most requested vehicle. While I have to honor the arrangement to have the gift as a classic car, the El Camino will get its own premium model that will most likely use the new scripts. If you look at the shell below, we didnt go to Dejay for it and the textures look like they can allow a beat-up version. Personally, Im looking forward to this El Camino. Ill probably be driving it often. Of course, we avoided the group gift question altogether. Have you ever heard of the Hudson Hornet? Dejay sells a fine version of it with an opening gas cap (which we look for almost all the time). I dont have any photos of it since I have just been scouting, but I will provide updates as progress is made. Speaking of new vehicles, we are adding another special RP vehicle to the line-up in the form of a cargo van. Because of the many functions you can perform with one of these vans, we will explore customization options along the lines of cargo and actual function and attachments. Any questions? Obviously theres a lot of anticipation regarding the group gift (and it may not live up to everyones expectations), but classics win the vote this time around. Next time we do this, dont expect Classics to win by a landslide anymore since well simply pull it from the line-up.
