Why Amity Counseling? Amity (plural amities) (formal, literary) friendship. The cooperative and supportive relationship between people. In this sense, the term connotes a relationship which involves mutual knowledge, esteem, affection, and respect along with a degree of rendering service to friends in times of need or crisis. Mutual understanding and a peaceful relationship, especially between nations; peace; accord. I believe the definition of Amity explains the therapeutic relationship and the goal for counseling perfectly. It is my hope that as your therapist I would provide the environment to create this relationship in order to aide in the establishing and meeting the goals you would want to accomplish.
