Becoming an ICARE foster is about joining a COMMUNITY of volunteers and fosters that are passionate about dogs (and kitties, roosters and goats). 2. ICARE is one of the only rescue organizations that we know that has a dedicated private Facebook group page that brings together ALL volunteers, fosters and ICARE leadership. 3. ICARE volunteers come from all walks of life corporate managers, stay home parents, dog trainers, dog groomers, vet techs, sales managers, and SO many other interesting fields. 4. ICARE leadership welcomes and encourages feedback and new ideas, which creates a collaborative environment that helps us all feel we are all truly in it together. 5. Posts are made before events inquiring if anyone needs supplies, so that the items are provided to you at events. Or, if you can’t make it to one particular event, then you can post to see if someone in your area can pick up items and bring them to you. 6. If your pup needs vet care and you are unable to take your foster on the specific date of the appointment, then a post is placed on the private Facebook group page for available volunteers and fosters to let you know if they are able to help. 7. And, the best part is that in an environment of sharing thoughts and being open to feedback, you learn how to care for any special behavior that your foster may need help with or you just have the moral support to keep trying new things to help them overcome fears of abandonment or abuse.
