Why You Suck At Gift-Giving! Gift giving can be difficult. It becomes like a job to me something I want to be good at. Doing something for someone, seems to me the best. Sometimes it works out that you can do something for someone that they need to get done but they are putting off and giving them an actual gift to unwrap. When it comes to my kids its easy, I always get whatever my kids want. They always make me a list. I say it becomes a job because when it comes to giving gifts to others I try to put some thought into it. Dont get me wrong I will occasionally by a impulse buy but if I do it would be for entertainment purposes only. Something to make someone laugh. Like buying a ball and chain and giving it to my friends that got married and demanding they open it at the very end of the wedding reception before they went on their honeymoon. Ill take note to self when I hear a friend mention something like I broke another bottle opener every one I get breaks and now I dont have one. Bam! A QUALITY 7 piece wine & bar gift set. 2 Wine stoppers, wine bottle collar, wine thermometer, foil cutter, wing corkscrew bottle opener in storage case. The most rewarding gifts to give to me when someone opens it with a look of surprise like wow. I knew somebody that had I dont know remember exactly how many it was it was a long time ago but Ill take a guess approx. 30 rolls of 35mm & 110 undeveloped cartridges. Everytime they went in their cabinet or drawer theyd fall out and get in the way. I started taking pictures at a very young age and I upgraded through the years camera after camera. So this was something that would be good for them and me. Took them all and mailed them a way to York & Clark photo labs. It was the most economically way. Then I purchased a book to put them in from Century 21 plastics. It took me a long time when I got the pictures back to try to put them in the order that they were taken. There was one roll I didnt even know the people in. When she opened it on Christmas it was a shocker! Yay mission accomplished. Another time I was asked to come take pictures of my daughter with your professional camera she was going to the prom with her boyfriend. Well I didnt stop there I went to her Saturday morning graduation and good thing I brought my extra lens for distance because they didnt let me on the field. The humidity that day made that morning drag. When she got up to receive her diploma I zoomed right in on her face, she was crying with excitement. Best shot EVER! I took pics of her graduation party to seal the story. Creating a story book after editing close to 300 pics took some time. So worth it. I cried after reviewing it before publishing. When it came in the mail I cried again! When her Aunt & Grandmother saw it they cried. There is nothing more satisfactory to give someone a positive emotion. It is priceless. I think I do pretty good at gift giving.
