Why #Youth Matters: A Different View editor Paul Derikx has set up the Youth Peace Initiative 2014. Often, the Middle-East peace process is described by young Israeli and Palestinians as about them, without them, yet half of the population in Israel and the Palestinian territories is younger than 25 years old. The Youth Peace Initiative tries to change the youths underrepresentation: 16 youngsters from Israel, the Palestinian territories and other countries from across the globe will convene in The Hague in October 2014, capital of international law, to draft their roadmap to peace. The roadmap will be presented to US Secretary of State John Kerry and each of the heads of the negotiation teams, in order to make sure the peace process also becomes their process.
