Why are there "Dead" Christians? The Dead Sea has a steady inflow - TopicsExpress

Why are there "Dead" Christians? The Dead Sea has a steady inflow but it has no outflow, therefore it cannot sustain life, hence the name "The Dead Sea". Sadly many Christians today are the same. Many go to church and hear the word but do not go out into the world and share what they have received. Others listen to Christian music and read Christian books but never give out what they have taken in. All the while people are dying and going to hell. I hear people say all the time how they are not comfortable witnessing to others about our Lord, yet I know they are thankful someone witnessed to them. After all, "How can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?" (Romans 10:14). God never called anyone to be comfortable. Was Abraham comfortable when he placed his son Isaac on the altar? Was Joseph comfortable as a slave or in prison? Was Jesus comfortable on the cross? Or the Apostles when they were beaten and killed for the message they carried? No they were not. And we will not always be comfortable either. God did not call us to be comfortable, he called us to be bold! We as Christians must always be willing to share The Good News with a dying world no matter how we feel. And we must all have a steady inflow as well as a steady outflow or we too, like The Dead Sea, will be unable to sustain life!
