Why college? Heres one authors take, at least as it was a few short decades ago: I can’t help sentimentalizing dorm life and everything that comes with it. When you live on campus, learning doesn’t screech to a halt when class lets out. New friends down the hall may have as much to do with a first-year student’s evolving perspective on the latest development in the Israel-Palestine conflict as the professor she sees twice a week. Listening to Ornette Coleman with jazz majors is a richer experience than listening alone.
