Why do I only get seriously ill on weekends when the doctors office is closed? My leg knee injury was healing nicely until late last week... but started more swelling and turning red around my ankle, which had not been injured in the fall. Long story short, on Friday I went to Raleigh Orthopedic where the PA completely missed diagnosis of cellullis. She sent me out and told me to take tylenol, when I actually had a serious leg infection and fever. So I spent the most of the weekend with a 102 fever. Went to Rex Hospital ER and waited over an hour for triage that never occurred.. so I finally left once I googled my symptoms using my phone. I knew I had a slightly old bottle of old antibiotics sitting around. After stating antibiotics, fever is gone and leg swelling / redness is reduced.
