Why do we cherish the notion of separated individuality? Surely it is no theoretical position that weve picked up along the way. Rather it would appear to be pre-theoretical and deeply intuitive. Yet are we indeed autonomous, uncaused, and unconditioned? Such a perspective clouds our understanding of birth, upon which our notions of death so dearly depend. Where were you before the Sun caught fire, before the Milky Way arose?
