Why does asking real theological questions make many uncomfortable - TopicsExpress

Why does asking real theological questions make many uncomfortable even angry? Why does sharing struggles with dogmas cause others to lash out? Why does pious religion all of a sudden become mobster religion when one challenges the status quo? Why do some prefer we not ask real questions about the words we are praying and that we not really wrestle with the beliefs we have been taught? Why do many when confused turn to identity boundaries rather than to issue research, cognitive exploration, & soul searching? Why do new evocative expressions cause many to burn bridges rather than build new relationships? Why do many expect faith leaders to only preach certainty and not express ambiguity? These are real psychological, sociological, & theological questions Im struggling with and would love to hear thoughts on.
