Why the Pharmaceutical Industry and Others Are Not Interested in a Cure for Cancer Any discussion of cancer often centers on whether there is a cure for cancer. For many modern day diseases, there are measures that can be taken to eliminate the disease or to degrade its danger. In the case of cancer, there seems to be no consensus on any claim that a cure for cancer is found. Yet, there are many who argue vehemently that they have successfully got rid of cancer in numerous suffers and have the proof to support it. But amid the claims and denials of claims cancer patients continue to suffer and more and more people are diagnosed with a disease that is at the core of health and wellness concerns. There are many claims of successful cancer treatments among medical professionals. However, the same medical professionals will not say whether any of the treatments amounts to a cure for cancer. There is word that medical professionals, particularly doctors, have been advised against making any declaration of a cure for cancer. Some argue that they are beholden to pharmaceutical bosses whose goal is to maximize profits from treatments that simply do not work. As such, their goal is not to find a cure for cancer, since finding a cure for cancer will diminish the size of their bottom-line. While About $200 billion has been spent on cancer research since the early 1970s, nothing close to a cure for cancer has come from the mountain of research that has been done. And although there are claims of promising treatments, a wholesale “cure for cancer” remains something that is cautiously avoided by the medical profession and the pharmaceutical industry. How The Pharmaceutical Industry and Others Are Not Interested in a Cure for Cancer There are more articles that have been written in recent times that make a case for cure for cancer. So far, none of the arguments have been taken seriously and virtually nothing has been done to investigate their claims let alone to attempt any implementation of any of them. Here are some pieces of information to that point: The headline of an article published in Sott.net, Signs of the times, on July 5, 2013 carried the headline, “Scientists cure cancer, but no one takes notice”. (See sott.net/article/228583).Amanda Chan wrote a blog in Live Science headlined, ” The 10 Deadliest Cancers and Why There’s No Cure” (For additional information, see livescience/11041-10-deadliest-cancers-cure.html). The Health section of the New Scientist published an article in January 2007, authored by Andy Coghlan that read: “Cheap, ‘safe’ drug kills most cancers” ( To see the entire article and additional comments, go to: newscientist/article/dn10971). Lunatic Outpost ran an article in April, 2013 that reported this: “Nobel Prize for curing cancer was blocked by pharmaceutical industry.” As recently as August 2012, The Telegraph, a London based newspaper ran an article with the headline, “A Virus that Kills Cancer: the Cure that’s Waiting in the Cold”. Professor Magnus Essand and Dr. Justyna Leja collaborated on a scientific project in cancer research in which they invented an oncolytic virus that bursts cancer cells. This virus they claimed eliminates the type of cancer that killed Steve Jobs. One would think that such a discovery would be reported in the top medical journals of the world but the virus named, Ad5[CgA-E1A-miR122]PTD, since 2010 has been kept in a bedsit-sized mini freezer in a busy lobby outside Professor Essand’s office, gathering frost. When many await a cure for cancer a potential cure for cancer is just there languishing in a freezer… mag2_2323927b The Power of the Pharmaceutical Industry and Others to Prevent a Cure for Cancer from Happening Countless cancer patients wait in agony to find permanent relief for the scourge of cancer. Many are willing to do whatever it takes to have a cure for cancer. Alexander Masters reports in his piece in The Telegraph: “Two hundred metres away is the Uppsala University Hospital, a European Centre of Excellence in Neuroendocrine Tumours. Patients fly in from all over the world to be seen here, especially from America, where treatment for certain types of cancer lags five years behind Europe. Yet even when these sufferers have nothing else to hope for, have only months left to live, wave platinum credit cards and are prepared to sign papers agreeing to try anything, to hell with the side-effects, the oncologists are not permitted – would find themselves behind bars if they tried – to race down the corridors and snatch the solution out of Prof Essand’s freezer”. People are willing to pay any amount to bring an end to their suffering and cannot understand why a potential cure is met with such resistance. They are willing to “wave platinum credit cards and are prepared to sign papers agreeing to try anything,…” An Alzheimer’s Journal recently claimed that: Potential treatments for Alzheimer’s disease, cancer and many other illnesses are being blocked by anti-drug laws, according to a new editorial review published in Nature Reviews Neuroscience.
