Why would the Mayor only contact 2 council members about the water park before it was announced? The others found out about it via facebook, newspaper and telephone calls from citizens. It makes me very leery of what else the Mayor is trying to hide and what her agenda may be. I also read on another site, Mark Hickey, a member of the P&R board was at the Western Stark Democrats club meeting. He spoke on the project. He stated this is only Phase One of the plan with Phase 2 being getting rid of the golf course. Where did he get this info, Ms. Mayor? If the Mayor can not tell our council representatives what is going on, how are we, as the city taxpayers, supposed to believe we are not going to be subjected to another deal where a few businessmen make all the money and we, the taxpayers, pay the price. Walk softly council representatives and make sure all questions are answered, Is dotted and Ts crossed before accepting a proposal on our behalf. I still believe it sounds like a great project but need assurance that we are not getting duped again like the Arena project, the senior high rise, the Hampton hotel and the Legends golf course.
