Will Sambo Survive Kaduna Old And New PDP Power Struggle? Reading - TopicsExpress

Will Sambo Survive Kaduna Old And New PDP Power Struggle? Reading newspapers this morning clearly proved that…there will be real power struggle in Kaduna state. The PDP whether old or new had challenges to contend with, their internal squabble, the threats from Kaduna based All Progressive Congress that are power hungry and daily recruiting party stalwarts…and also the increasing unemployed radicalized youths that are teaming up with radicalized professionals, activists, pressure groups and other progressives… But one question reminiscing in the minds of those following Kaduna politics is whether Vice President Namadi Sambo will survive being a casualty of power struggle that will define political supremacy between the old and the new PDP in Kaduna State ahead of 2015. Another question is, who cleared the ground for the man in 2007 PDP gubernatorial primaries? Politics, in the chess game, they said no permanent friend or enemy but interest. Those in the Sambo’s camp, according to feelers have vowed to consolidate and described the new development as usual political grandstanding that will not undermine their power base…as they have always sail through challenging political ocean… Those in the new PDP have also vowed to displace Sambo from political radar of Kaduna state being chief pioneers of the polity… They argued that Sambo is surrounded with only political paper weight…blablabla…and that they will teach them lesson and chase them out… Hear them on why they joined the new PDP train led by Abubakar Kawu Baraje, the progenitors, Audi Yaro Makama and Gideon Yakubu Morik, “Fundamentally, this decision has been taken after deep reflections on happenings in Kaduna State since the elevation of Architect Namadi Sambo as Vice President. It is instructive that since his elevation, the fortunes and prestige of the party in the state has been declining rather than improving, because he has been incapable of rallying the people under its umbrella. Although this is hardly surprising since he lacks the political wherewithal and the requisite structure to preside over the politics of the state, but it was expected that he would come to terms with his inadequacies and enlist the support of established political actors. “This expectation has been a forlorn hope because the Vice President has surrounded himself with political paperweights. These hangers on drive Sambo’s vehicle of political exclusionism by hunting for enemies even where they don’t exist. All efforts by concerned party members and elders to make him see reason, as well as draw the attention of the sacked party leadership were in vain.” For some of us, the nexus connecting us with Kaduna state politics is merely because we are reporters. But one thing is; we are indigenes of the state. As to who will survive, time will tell everything…
