Will The Voice of Stray Dogs close? *** NEVER *** Many of you have heard that VoSD will close. And many have written on this page and to me personally asking for us to reconsider the decision to close down! I think all the requests were on the back of this communication that I made on my personal page (shared here) or on hearsay. I write as the Founder of VoSD and its principal patron. Of its ₹ 4,5 crores outlay I spend over possibly 95% and provide most of the operational and intellectual direction - so I do have a say on what VoSD is and where it goes. If you read my note carefully here goo.gl/CLxwp2 (it is public) and if you read the follow up comments carefully (theyre public as well) a few things are very clear: (1) VoSD will NEVER close. And VoSDs rescue will NEVER stop. And VoSDs doors will always be open to those the dogs that really need our care. And as I wrote to someone today on this very page, No dogs will be left without help on Bangalores streets. Not now. Not ever (2) But there are going to be some changes. Not sure exactly what and how many (pls read the note for just what is being considered). Just that weve had enough of the abuse on phone and online hurled at us. Some of you have suggested that I disregard it. Its difficult to do so. And its doubly difficult to do so when I have 25+ staff of which 20+ work 7 days a week each week that is 365 days a year, NO breaks!! And of which some 15+ actually are on duty 24 hrs a day, also 365! What have they done to deserve the cheap language of Bangalores dog rescuers. How does one disregard that? This is not about all-of-Bangalore and those who are our patrons and well-wishers! But we clearly get enough abuse to warrant a change. (3) There are enough people who want to pull VoSD & me personally down. As a matter of fact I do stuff with careful planning. What is the way forward will be clearly communicated - as are even the minutest process/ process changes. And will always keep the dogs interest in mind, but also that of our team. This is being debated on the note shared above (pls see the comment(s) in my suggestions as possible way fwd).
