Will political partisans of all shapes and sizes ever realize they are only preaching to the choir? I get tired of political posts, especially since at least half of them are filled with distortions or facts skewed to favor their opinions. No matter to the partisans. Facts will not confuse them. According to a university study called How Facts Backfire, informing partisans of facts only reinforces their own opinions that are contrary to those facts. Sorry to report that while liberals and conservatives were both guilty to some extent, the conservatives tended to have facts backfire (i.e. be more convinced they are right) while the liberals conveniently forgot some facts.
