William Maxwell Bailey age 88 of Wilmington, passed away at St. Francis Hospital on Wednesday, October 16, 2013. William is survived by his beloved wife Frances Morris Bailey. Surviving brothers are Harold of Dover, De. and Leo of Fernley, Nevada. Loving father of David (Becky); Charles (Rafael) of Wilmington and Ardean Phillips (Phil) of Newark. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Mr. Bailey honorably served in the US Navy on LST 395 in major battles of the South Pacific during WWII. He assisted in medical operations, cleared the path for airplanes and disembarking naval troops to land. He was retired from Allied Chemical where he worked as a truck driver. After his retirement William became a bus driver (Wertz). Bill was also a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, De. Services will be held privately.
