Wilma, my sister, and I had a MARVELOUS time in Aruba! We were at a Bluegreen resort called La Cabana that is right on the beach. The resort had a big pool with a waterfall and slide and scheduled activities. We danced Latin dances, sang Karaoke (I won a second place prize), did water exercise classes, and played shuffleboard. One day we rented a car and explored the 20 mile by 10 mile island. We saw a light house, went to a National Park and saw caverns there, saw the site of the first church, saw a natural bridge made by wave action on the windward side of the island, and went to Baby Beach which is a shallow white sand beach on the leeward side. The beach near our resort was lovely, too. The sand is almost like sugar. The reflection of the sun through the sea and off of the sand makes the water a crystal clear turquoise blue. It looks almost unbelievable. There are tiki huts all along the beach to provide shade. The water was around 80 degrees and hardly any wave action as this is the leeward side of the island. Just perfect for relaxing. My sister and I had a wonderful time exploring, shopping, eating, talking and enjoying the activities and the fantastic surroundings. A great time was had by all!
