Windows 8 currently has more installations in users hands than all versions of Mac combined. Though Apples Tim Cook recently took a jab at the upgrade percentage, the numbers only look weird because a LOT of PC users are still clinging onto the now fatal Windows XP (and older computers). Mac adoption, while more common today than 10 years ago, still only owns a small percentage of the total desktop/laptop market. In terms of sheer number of devices in use, there are more than 5 Win8 devices in users hands compared to 1 iOS Maverick. This is not to claim that one system is better than the next but merely to point out the sheer difference in number of users and to cause clarity on the stats being thrown around.
