Wise words written by our friend Nancy Forbush. Just felt that this needed to be up here in status and not below in a thread where people might not see it. I have noticed that whenever anything is suggested to raise the living standard of the people of the nation, the Presidents detractors are quick to say; Who pays for all this stuff? Or Wheres the money going to come from? Interesting thing, the taxes on the rich have never been lower; why some of the multibillion corporations no longer pay any tax at all due to legislated loopholes and money earned out of the country now sits in tax havens because it isnt taxed unless it comes back into the country. Thats why trillions are now stored safely off-shore in tax havens like the Cayman Islands. Ah, but the Republicons refuse to raise taxes on those who can most afford to pay their fair share. They would rather levy taxes on the middle-class with a steady progression of higher license fees, additional gas or sales taxes to pay for infrastructure repairs, etc. OR they will cut social programs; anything but raise corporate tax. You see, the middle-class is fast disappearing because they refuse to see, the money must come from where it IS - it has been directed upwards into the hands of the few who now hold most of the wealth of the nation.
