With 36 hours and counting until the end of the Latino/a Rising kickstarter, the last word goes to Pablo Brescia! Pablo’s stories show the uniqueness of U.S. Latino/a speculative fiction which often draws on literary traditions distinct from Anglo-American speculative fiction. Though living in Florida, Pablo retains a strong connection to the literary heritage of Latin America, in particular to that of his home Argentina. He has a phrase that perfectly describes what the Latino/a Rising project is all about: “Literary Politics.” We’re not only raising money for the anthology, we are trying to get readers and writers to pay attention to the beauties of U.S. Latino/a speculative fiction. We have an aesthetic agenda!
