With Christmas approaching my smart vivarium project has (temporarily) slammed in to a brick wall just when Im ready to move the project to a more powerful, less generic micro-controller. By far the easiest development board to use would be the Nabduino TWS coolcomponents.co.uk/nabduino-tunnelling-web-server-1117.html which costs just £20, has its own integrated server and even has an inbuilt temperature sensor but Id consider paying over £50 to move the project to the outstanding Arduino YÚN… simply so I have an excuse to buy one! coolcomponents.co.uk/arduino-yun.html But by far the most fun and ultimately the most adaptable to any animal enclosure would be to move each sensor to its own micro-controller around a central controller as an Internet of Things preferably using Adafruits cute little Trinket dev board which would allow sensors to be placed anywhere in the enclosure, regardless of how big or small the enclosure is. phenoptix/products/adafruit-trinket-mini-microcontroller-3-3v-logic-1500 Ill see where I want to go with this project when Ive payed off the holiday season. :/
