With God, nothing is empty of meaning Saint Irenaeus My 17 year old son had the opportunity to welcome Jesus and experience the meaning found only in and from God by serving others last night. Once a week I am blessed to take a group of Soldiers to serve the evening meal at the Opportunity Center Homeless Shelter in El Paso--JESUS SHOWS UP in the never-ending stream of homeless men, the rag-tag of humanity--the drug addict, the forgotten elderly, drunks, men in tattered clothes, the mentally ill and the Soldier recently fired from the Army as it downsizes... Thank you Lord Jesus for the opportunity to serve and care for you, to love out the Gospel not in upward mobility, but through downwardly mobile, cruciform ministry and service.
