With a heavy heart, the Rotary Club of Duluth bids farewell to Cindy Sutt, a beloved member since 1998, who served the club in countless ways. As the cofounder and creative director of Rock, Paper, Scissors, she remained our resident graphic artist. Most of all, she was always a dear, kind friend. Firmly believing that a community flourished when the arts also thrived, Cindy spearheaded and championed all kinds of charitable efforts, but most especially those that would enrich others’ lives through the arts. Cindy passed away on March 19, 2014, just two days after she and her husband Randy were honored by the Aurora Theatre with “The Barbara,” a lifetime achievement award given for an enduring commitment to making the nonprofit a living, breathing success story. Cindy is survived by her husband and best friend Randy; her loving, beautiful daughter Amanda; and wonderful son-in-law Hugh Thompson. A memorial service will be held at Duluth United Methodist Church, 3208 Duluth Hwy 120, on Saturday, March 22 at 11:00 AM. Visitation is from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A reception will follow the service at the Sutt’s home. For those who would like to make a contribution in Cindy’s memory, the family would appreciate donations to the Aurora Theatre, The Sutt Family Artists’ Fund.
