With all the stories lately about BAD Customer Service, I wanted - TopicsExpress

With all the stories lately about BAD Customer Service, I wanted to share my OPPOSITE experience today with Verizon Wireless. I came across Verizons Facebook Page today and immediately noticed that people used it to ask a lot of questions and also Vent their frustrations (about Verizon). Because it was more convenient than calling (I didnt really want to sit on Hold) I thought I would ask a general pricing question and see if agreed with what I was told during a previous phone call with Verizon. In a nut shell my question was ..... Assuming my 4 Phones were out of contract, could I just change my existing $220/month (sharing 3GB) over to the AT&T comparable $160/month (sharing 10GB) plan. Answer: Yes, I could switch to the $160/10GB plan if my phones were all out of contract. But a couple other surprises followed that answer .... Verizon asked if they could look at my account plan and see if there was anything they could offer me in the mean time. I thought sure, why not, but I still have 10 months left in my contract so Im sure nothing more can be done .... Enter surprise #1. They came back and offered me a $10 discount per phone ($40 total) if I would extend my contract by 2 months. After several more back and forth clarifying questions to make sure I knew all the fine print details, I decided to go with the offer. I mean this drops me down to the $180 range and nothing changes on my account. Enter Surprise #2. So Im trying to get the NEW offering applied to my account but my Facebook app all the sudden craps out and wont send messages for a couple of hours. Finally, around 8:00 pm, my messages go through and I ask if a VZ rep will call me. They do almost immediately and to my surprise, they have an even better deal than what I had been talking to them about. They now are offering me an $80/month drop in my bill ..... WHAT???. No other stipulations or fine print. This now puts me at $140/month + taxes/fess. Id be crazy not to jump on this, so of course I did. The main difference with the 10GB AT&T plan and with this NEW VZ plan is that Im still at only 3GB. Some might find this a problem but we started with only sharing 2GB with 3 phones and only moved to 3GB in March of this year when we added the 4th phone. The 3GB is definitely NOT a deal breaker for me, especially when Im saving $80/month. Its not very often that I have an experience like this with a Cellular or Cable Provider. Thanks Verizon (Yale, Kevin, Ashley, & Tyler), this definitely will be noticeable in our Family budget.
