With much respect. Thank you Councilmember Kshama Sawant via Gender Justice League ! Join me tonight at 6 PM to march in the Trans* Pride Seattle parade from Seattle Central Community College to an evening rally in Cal Anderson Park. In 33 states, people can be fired for being transgendered. And transgendered people are 28% more likely to experience physical violence. Transgender people experience especially high rates of poverty, unemployment, and hate crimes, including murder. We need to build a movement that is capable of changing the economic system which fundamentally bases itself on oppression and inequality. This event is open to everyone who stands in solidarity: everyone who believes trans* and gender non-conforming people deserve to live lives free from violence, discrimination, stigmatization, poverty, hatred, rejection, medical abuse and neglect, and mental pathologization. We encourage the participation by groups, organizations, and individuals in the trans* and gender non-conforming community and those offering services directly to our community. -KS
