With my first child on the way I worry a lot more about things that used to not catch my attention at all. Like how people dont tend to hold the door for others as much as they should or how kids are more self centered and selfish than they used to be (parents fault as much or more than the kids). The unfolding events in ferguson have everybody putting their opinion out there so heres mine. I dont think that our country struggle with a white/black problem or rich/poor. I believe it is the same good vs evil struggle that has plagued our world for millenniums. Good people will always find a way to use a bad situation to make the world a better place. Evil people will always find a way to turn a bad situation worse, usually finding a benefit for themselves in the process. Good people work to solve problems, evil people work to create problems that they can use to their advantage...either for money in their pocket or power in their grip. The question we should all be asking ourselves every day is which group do I belong to? A great man once said, The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral, begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it. Through violence you may murder the liar, but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth. Through violence you may murder the hater, but you do not murder hate. In fact, violence merely increases hate. So it goes. Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.-Dr King
