With portions of the world fomenting with war, epidemics, natural disasters, and heartbreak fueling fear or denial in our homeland, Ecclesiastes 8:17 boils it down: “No one can comprehend what goes on under the sun.” When my mind cant wrap around devastating events leaving me feeling out-of-control and powerless to comfort the afflicted, my heart can still resonate with the joy of what my heart has received -- Gods unconditional love and forgiveness and pray that others receive the same joy-no-matter-what. I look to Jehovah-Sabaoth, The LORD of Hosts, to carry out His perfect will. No one can oppose the Ruler-over-all-people-and-things, whether the hosts be earthly, cosmic, or heavenly. “Optimism that does not count the cost is like a house builded on sand. A man must understand evil and be acquainted with sorrow before he can write himself an optimist and expect others to believe that he has reason for the faith that is in him, Helen Keller.
