With regards to Palestine, the argument of a two state solution is not only rationally flawed, but also Islamically flawed. If someone wishes to argue to the contrary, they should bring evidence and not throw insults or hyperbole. Firstly, no serious political analyst views the two state solution as viable, because: 1. The land is too small to accommodate two states 2. Israel will control the borders and airspace , thus a Palestinian state will have no real sovereignty. 3. The Palestinian state will be ruled by those that Israel approves of, ie a secular party that accepts the state of Israel, again negating its sovereignty. 4. The Palestinian state will be geographically disjoint as well as peppered with settlements. 5. When the apartheid state of South Africa offered a two-state solution to the blacks, almost identical to that the Western leaders propose today. The Bantusan created by South Africa called Bophuthatswana, was not recognised by any state in the world except South Africa itself!! The whole world recognised it was a way to legitimise and give life to the apartheid state. Zionism as a political ideology has nothing to do with Judaism, but everything to do with racism and apartheid. If the world cannot accept a Nazi or an Apartheid state, I don’t see why Muslims should be forced to accept a Zionist state on stolen land! From the Islamic perspective, the two state solution is not valid 1. To accept it, means to accept the right of Israel to exist. No Muslim has the right to say or do that. When the last great Khalifah of the Muslims was asked to give a part of Palestine to the Jews, he said, Please advise Dr Hertzel (Zionist) not to make any serious move in this mater. I cannot give up even one small patch of land in Palestine. It is not something that I own as a part of my personal estate. Palestine in fact belongs to the Muslim Nation as a whole. My people have fought with their blood and sweat to protect this land,let the Jews keep their millions and once the Khilafah is torn apart one day, then they can take Palestine without a price,to have the scalpel cut my body is less painful than to witness Palestine being detached from the Khilafah state and this is not going to happen 2. Palestine doesn’t belong to any ethnic group. It belongs to the Ummah. Islam was brought to that land by the Sahaba (not Palestinian). The land was annexed to the Khilafah. It was liberated by Saad Ibraheemlauhdeen (not a Palestinian but a Kurd) and annexed to the Abbasi Khilafah. 3. Many of the expedient arguments used today were around at the time the Crusaders occupied Palestine. Nothing happen for 90+years until Salahudeen addressed the issue. One should read his biography to learn some lessons. 4. If something is classed as haram, then you cannot invent an intermediate solution. One needs to show subr and persevere for that which is right and trust in Allah swt. Its like allowing someone whose iman is weak and doesnt have money to marry. No scholar will say get a girlfriend in the mean time to address your immediate needs until you are able to get married. Islam teaches us subr and tolerance for a reason so we dont compromise with that which we are not allowed to compromise with and we strive with halal means. The 13 years of seerah in Makkah is ample evidence for this! 5. The Shari ruling is clear and unambiguous. He swt says in Surah Baqara expel them from wherever they have expelled you By Br Mazhar Khan
