With so many blog aggregators offering newly published books for reviewing, I wonder if writing an unfavourable review had resulted in anyone being contacted by the author. There has been a situation where an author has written to clarify his/her background to explain certain assumptions in the book. That is absolutely fine. There is also a situation where the email is couched in politely veiled sarcasm, implying the author needs to learn book-writing from the reviewer. I am particularly interested in a recent women centric book being reviewed by bloggers (I did not review this book), where there have been unfavourable reviews. Has anyone been contacted by the author at all ? Is my experience with the other book review unique or is it par for the course ? Uma Jeena Sridevi Datta .
