With the back to school season rapidly approaching many SLP colleagues in School-Based Speech And Language Therapy group are posting cute ideas regarding numerous room decoration options. However, SLPs and parents beware: heavily decorated speech rooms may be pleasing to the eye but they are not terribly conducive to children learning. In fact children with significant processing and attention issues will actually be particularly negatively affected by the visual clutter.
