With the new year here we have learned by trial and error through the previous ones. Starting immediately The Center WILL NO LONGER accept owner surrenders without a previous behavior test. If the animal has issues such as biting people(children). Attacking other animals. Costly medical issues. Extreme manner issues. ETC. It will be up to us whether we take it in. No exceptions. DO NOT bring your surrendered animal to The Center without being cleared by myself or staff days before. We have staff and volunteers who put their safety out there everyday to care for unwanted furkids. We are not here to put your unpredictable/unruly animal down. That is your responsibility as a pet owner. Find a way to fix the problem or please be there for it when it crosses The Bridge. Any dog accepted will be a $20 surrender fee and any cat is $10. This helps with the cost of housing, caring for and vaccinating. I hope everyone understands why this policy is needed. Thank You for all of your compassion and support.~~Opy
