With the start of a new season comes the start of a new incredible program at Special Moments Catering! Two days ago we integrated our new compost program here at our facility! We can now take approximately 90% of our kitchen waste and compost it! Some of the compost able items include: -Egg Shells -Small Chicken Bones -Coffee Grounds and Filters -Much more! These once wasted products are now developed in a compost, a natural fertilizer used in gardens and farms. Integrating this new compost program is just the next step Special Moments is taking towards sustainable catering. And here is our favorite part of this program! The company we have selected for our compost program is called Recycled city. Recycled city has two community gardens in Phoenix that allow homeless or economically challenged citizens to come and pick fresh produce weekly. The compost we are helping to produce in our facility is used to fertilize the soil, helping crops grow faster and without the use of chemicals. How cool is that?! Our trash is no longer cluttering landfills but rather is being used to feed those that truly need it. Now that is a win all around!
