With the two day national series now complete time to thank a few people and reflect on the season a little First of all a massive thank you to all the drivers who supported the series, by contesting the national championship you are putting yourself forward as the best in the UK and you all certainly showed yourselves worthy of that tag with some great racing throughout the season, without you guys we would not have a championship and from my committees point of view you guys made our efforts well worth while On the subject of the committee, a massive thank you to everyone involved, we never have enough people to make the job easy, it will always be a few working hard for the majority, so a massive thank you to the hard working few, john Robson, Kris Kennedy, Minnie Dyson, Stefan Chodzynski , Doug Morgan, Mike Smith and drivers rep Chris Grainger, thanks also to those that helped behind the scenes including Craig Morgan We are privileged to be spoilt for choice with regards to tracks and clubs we visit for the national series, a big thank you to all the clubs who hosted a round of the series in 2014, West London, Cotswolds, Halifax, Stafford and Mendip all did a great job this season and from what I could see you made a massive effort to make the drivers feel welcome and that is a big consideration when we are looking at selecting tracks going forward in to 2015 Thank you to Chris O’Donahue and Michael Ball for supporting the series with CPD Racing and M B Models, I am sure the drivers were very grateful of your attendance when things went wrong for them. Our videos are well known all over the world and are their release is always keenly awaited by drivers and those keen to see some of the action, thanks to Stew Noble for his efforts, us old farts on the committee are never going to be hip with the kids, but Stew covers for us making us making RC racing look cool…! We have used Sorex tyres in the series now for a few years now thanks to Schumacher Racing winning the tyre vote, given some of the problems other series have with tyres failures in the fast modified class I am grateful we have been supplied a very good quality product for our series but most of all the supply is consistent and that’s very important to us and the drivers, so thanks to Robin and the team at Northampton for that, yes we have had a few failures but given what the really fast guys are asking from the tyre I think these failures are very few. Well I think that covers all the thanks you’s Well done to Olly Jefferies and Zak Finlay on their respective Super Touring and Pro Stock titles in 2014 Going forward we still have the final round of the Clubman’s so good luck to the drivers making their way to Stafford for the final round of the series, hope you have the same exciting showdown we did at Mendip, don’t forget there is also the Winter National at the end of the year Next year, well that may very much depend on what’s on the table following the AGM but I personally hope the series continues to gain momentum, our series is very highly regarded around the world and it’s a great thing to be part of, I know it’s not for everyone and we can’t really change that, it is a series for the very best drivers racing at the highest level but I do think some people’s perception may be misguided so to them I would say come along and do a few rounds next year. Last word, the weather, it was crap this year, every event was rain effected, but it’s a reflection on everyone that we carried on and had some great racing and drivers came back for more, so I will finish this were I started with a really big thank you to all the drivers.
