With words from my niece, the vet in the family: (Thanks, Paula Lenhard-Rogers) So I read the article because honestly I have thus far ignored it because it sounded so absurd. What I will say is that if you have an overheated dog, person, animal you should never try to cool them off quickly with ice unless directed too. We will use cool or ice towels on their skin, inner thighs and armpits to try to cool down their body. Because quickly cooling a dog thats overheated can also kill them. I guess theoretically could a dogs stomach cramp if overheated and given ice cubes, maybe. Have I ever seen it or heard of it, no.
