Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett today admitted Jamie O’Hara could still be weeks rather than days away from being fit enough to gatecrash his squad. Jackett has removed the £5m midfielder from his plans after declaring the 27-year-old not mobile enough following his two substitute appearances. O’Hara hasn’t appeared in the last three games before today’s visit of high-flying Brentford. “If he needs to improve in an area, it’s getting around the pitch,” said the boss. “How quickly you can get that and how that can be improved is hard to put a time limit on. But that’s the improvement I’m looking for in him.” Jackett admits O’Hara’s long-term injury problems after a hernia issue that required three operations haven’t helped. “Maybe it’s a chicken-and-egg situation with him getting games, but somewhere along the line that pattern has to be broken, so we’ll see,” he said. Jackett said O’Hara agreed with his assessment and is doing all he can to challenge for a first-team place again. “He’s OK with it and he’s working hard towards continually improving and get back on the teamsheet,” said the head coach. “Since he’s been in the group, he’s been very good on the ball and there’s been no problems with his attitude whatsoever.” Meanwhile, Jackett revealed Portuguese winger Eusebio Bancessi could be the latest from the development squad to join the seniors. The 20-year-old’s brace in the 2-1 Under-21s League Cup win at Notts County this week made it four goals in two games. “He’s a very good prospect,” said Jackett. “He’s good and is close. “We’ll see but I’ve been very impressed with the start he’s made to his Wolves career. “In the Under-21s he’s scored four goals in his last two appearances which is never a bad thing from right wing.” Wolves are still tracking Livingston midfielder Steven Scougall after they had the 20-year-old on trial this summer. “He’s someone we’ve kept tabs on, although we’re not necessarily going to make any imminent moves,” said Jackett. “But our scouting department have watched him.” Molineux’s North Bank Bar hosts the Wolverhampton Programme Fair today between 10.30am-1.30pm. Admission is £1. Under-16s are free.
