Women are taught to think that it is powerful to hold people - TopicsExpress

Women are taught to think that it is powerful to hold people hostage with what they did wrong. Thats your power. No, I didnt forget it. Im still strong. Im tough! But it takes more strength to forgive then to be vengeful and angry. And the worst part of it is forgiveness doesnt exonerate the perpetrator. It does not justify their behavior. Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself. Because you let it go and you are available to be your highest and best self. And because you are saying that it is not stronger than me. I disconnect from it and find that I am in control of it and it is not in control of me. When you hold onto your history you do it at the expense of your destiny. If I had held onto all the things that happened to me in my childhood and in my life, I wouldnt be standing here today. I had to realize that when you rehearse those visions and images you empower them. You actually shrine them. I decided to cast down the idols of my history and embrace the possibilities of my destiny. So that I was available when Gods roll call was made. Are you present and available for what I want to do in your life right now?....My hands are free! Here I am! Pick me, Im ready to go! (Bishop Jakes)
